Diva
Founded in April, 1994.

Lesbian magazine published by Millivres Ltd., publishers of Gay Times. The founding editor was Frances Williams. Kim Watson joined on issue 2 to set up distribution, marketing and ad sales, with the aim of going monthly. She also set up the first Diva web site and the popular Diva Bluerooms forum in 1996, with web desginers Port80. Diva took on its full-time Ad Manager Maggie Travers in November 1997

Diva was bi-monthly, until it went monthly in April, 1998 under the editorship of Gillian Rogerson who joined in 1997. When Gillian returned to Canada, Jane Czyzselksa became editor on 1st April 2004 and has succeeded in building Diva's circulation and identity further. Diva celebrates 150 issues in September 2008. "Let's face it. Lesbians were never everywhere. In margins and footnotes, hidden from history . . .Diva will put lesbians centre-stage. The spotlight will be reversed for them alone. Anyone who is sitting in the audience is free to applaud." Frances Williams, in Gay Times , April 1994. She was editor from March 1994 to October 1996.

LESBIAN MAG TO BECOME MONTHLY, in The Pink Paper, 5th. December, 1997, issue 510, page 2. "Lesbian glossy Diva is set to become a monthly magazine, after being available only as a bi-monthly since March 1994. Marketing director Kim Watson said the first new-look monthly Diva would be its May issue and was the result of sustaining a 30,000 - and growing - readership in the UK." Job Done!
